The Makers — Neon Dave

The Makers Series is a personal project I started several years ago, driven by my interest in individual talents and passions. I love spending time with people, learning about their creative endeavors, and documenting what they produce. From building custom mountain bikes to crafting neon signs, this project has allowed me to capture and celebrate the passions of various individuals.

David Johansen, also known as Neon Dave, runs a one-person neon glass studio in Portland, Maine. He divides his time between creating fine art and making signs for local businesses and private residences. It was a delight to spend some time with Dave and observe him work in such a specialized medium.
